This past semester, graduate students from the SMU Master of Liberal Studies and Human Rights Department worked with The Kikulu Foundation to produce a white paper that draws on their conclusions about education challenges in Uganda. Their research had specific focus on the following:
Gender disparities in primary and secondary education
Education disparities amongst orphaned children
Lack of access to quality education in rural communities
The white paper provides an overview on the historical background of Uganda, why there are so many orphaned children, education disparities, and how we can best support education for children in this under resourced part of the world.
