We’re a global community of changemakers who believe in a world where every child, regardless of where they live, has access to a quality education.
How We Work
Our philosophy is simple and our approach is collaborative. We believe education is the most impactful investment we can make for a more just and equitable world. Since our beginnings, we’ve partnered with schools, teacher colleges, vocational training programs, and communities in rural Uganda to help support education initiatives impacting the lives of hundreds of children and teachers. We raise awareness for global education in the United States and our international programs support teacher training, student scholarships, books, school supplies, uniforms, and solar lights for nighttime study.
We believe that one day, extreme poverty, can be the exception rather than the rule in many parts of the world. We are a powerful force for change and we must advocate for opportunity, the value of every human life, and paying forward the gift of education.
The Name Kikulu (che-koo-loo)
The word Kikulu means "It's Important" in Lusoga, a regional dialect in Uganda. We believe investing in global education is one of the single most powerful and important actions one can take; the most valuable practice in creating lasting change is by investing in people.
Where We Work
We raise awareness and advocate for global education in the United States, support education initiatives in rural Uganda, and help empower women’s artisan groups in Ecuador and India.
